This week was the best week we’ve ever had at The Connection Church, because our focus was directly on why we exist, to help people connect with Jesus. Seeing people step out of death into life, from darkness into light is God’s heart, and it’s what makes our heart beat faster around here.
We heard from Austin Wimberley and Kristien Hatchett about the incredible change that is happening through our Celebrate Recovery ministry. This week, they’ll be kicking off separate groups for men and women so they can dive deeper into the hurts, habits, and hangups that people are facing and find real freedom! Celebrate Recovery meets Thursday nights at 6:30. If you want more info, contact Larry at recovery_at_theconnectionchurch.org.
This week’s music was filled with celebration as the band brought us The Earth is Yours, and literally moved people to tears as Kenzie brought Colton Dixon/JJ Weeks Band Let Them See You. The song captures our desire to be a living example of God’s love for people. To listen to the songs we sang together, check out this Spotify playlist. You may want to use this as your own personal worship devotional list for your times alone with God this week.
In the message, I got to talk about the third link that we make, which is our driving force, reaching out to the people around us and inviting them to The Connection Church and into a real relationship with Jesus. I hope that you’re joining me this week in praying for 5 people who are not yet part of God’s family. Watch the “Linking People with God” message here to discover more about how to help people link with God.
Another way we link people with God is by serving together through the church. Everyone who currently serves, or who stepped up to serve got a “vOluNteEr” t-shirt based on 1 Corinthians 12:12 that we’ll be wearing in full force on September 7.
You can check out all the pics from this week on our flickr page to see the excitement, or join us this Sunday to experience it for yourself!
